Honor Flight

Honor Flight is a program which sends WWII veterans to Washington D.C. for a day!! They get to visit all the memorials and Arlington National Cemetary!! This is free of charge to the veterans (paid for by companies like Hy-Vee and Casey's General Stores)! My grandpa was chosen to go on the flight today!!! Here are some pics from this morning!!

Labor Day Weekend Fun

Labor Day Weekend

I am headed to Minnesota today after work!! I go there every Labor Day weekend to hang out with my aunt and uncle. We will visit the renaissance faire and state fair!! I made a new outfit for this years renaissance faire. I will post a picture after this weekend!!!

The up coming two weeks

I know I don't write often...but I am letting you all know that this will definitely not be updated for two weeks starting this coming Monday. The Iowa State Fair starts on Wednesday and I am a devoted person!! I love the ISF(Iowa State Fair)!! I will be there nearly everyday for some reason or another!! If I could afford it I would take of the week and a half from work and just be at the fair 24/7!!!

If any of you readers are interested in coming and checking it out...feel free to call or let me know somehow and I can get you info!!

As far as anything else, I am doing alright. Wanting to change things in life and just praying that out right now!! Learning alot in the book study I am doing!!! That's about it from here!!

HOOOOOORRRAAAYYY!!!!!!!

My sister and brother-in-law are moving!!! To the midwest!! Michael has been interviewing with the E-Free Church in Hastings, NE for a couple of months now. He just had a second on-site interview this last weekend and they got THE call last night that the church wants him!! He will be the new Worship and Music Ministries Director!! So the two of them (3 if you count the dog) will be headed out of Los Angeles on August 5th to make there trek eastward!! I believe Michael's first day is August 10th!!!

Lake Okoboji

This last weekend, some of my family members and I headed up to Lake Okoboji! We camped at a really nice state park on Big Spirit Lake!! I don't know if any of you know, but I LOVE TO CAMP...in a tent!!! We had so much fun just hanging and checking out the area. Saturday my cousin and unlce set out for a round of golf, while my aunt, my cousin's fiancee, my mom and I headed to Arnold's Park!! Then plan for us girls was to get me up and parasailing...that didn't happen as is was too windy:( So instead my cousin's fiancee and I shopped the little stores they have there while my mom and aunt sat and talked it up!! Then, we stopped at this clothing shop on the way back. All the clothes in it were $100-$700!!! Holy Buckets! Needless to say, no cool clothes were bought there. We went back to the camp ground and picked up the boys to go to our family reunion. I LOVE FAMILY REUNIONS!!!! Love to see family I haven't seen in the last year or more...see who's new and who's married, engaged, etc.

It was a quick weekend but I had fun!!

Day 4- Canon City

Today we woke up before the crack of dawn, put on our swim suits and shorts, and headed out to go white water rafting!! I was so nervous about this, I has huge butterflies in my stomach the whole morning. After some office complications at the rafting place, we loaded a school bus that took us out to the Arkansas River. When we got to the river, I got even more nervous/excited/intimidated. It was not until we were in the boat on the water that I lost those feelings. White water rafting is SO FUN!! I loved the mystery of not knowing if the rapids were going to go under or over the boat. We were with a family who possibly had done this before, they wanted to go all out (like flip the boat). I was not so keen on this...but we did it about half way down our 9 mile trip and I actually enjoyed it!!! This is by far the best venture I have ever been on! I would go again in a heartbeat!

We then went to Buckskin Joes Frontier Town to check out the old city and take the train ride up to a look out point for the Royal Gorge! Very cool place!! We even got out Old Time Photo taken as outlaws breaking free from jail!!

After that train ride, I really felt the need to actually be on the suspension bridge over the Royal Gorge!! So we did it!! We paid the money and enjoyed ourselves some Aerial Tram, walking the bridge, and Jess and I did the incline plain!!

God's land out here is so beautiful and majestic!!

Day 4- Canon

God is so good! Shan, Jess and I visited Seven Falls and the Garden of the Gods today!! It was amazing...I can't even fully take in the greatness!! I just want to pitch a tent and stay here...maybe I will!!!

Outta Here

So small update: Nothing new has occurred...I just work and chill. My summer has been spent on the go. I really haven't had a chillax weekend in I can't tell you how long...and it's not going to end anytime soon. That's alright though, I am getting to see lots of friends and family!!!

Tonight after work I am headed to J's house! J, S and I are going to Colorado Springs tomorrow!! I can not even wait!! I am so excited I barely slept last night.

After that it's weddings and family reunions, the Iowa State Fair, and then Labor Day Weekend...wooo.

I will try to update some during my vacation!!

Houston we've got...

A kitchen table finally!! I am super excited! It needs a little repair, but aside from that I can start doing lots of things! First on the list, making a new Renaissance dress!! A much lighter weight dress then the old. I have to start soon though, it has to be done by Labor Day weekend. I can also start baking more things!! I have longed for the day when I can just have a baking day. It hasn't happened since I lived in college. With little counter space, I can only bake one thing right now. With this table I can bake as much as I want!! I can also have friends over for dinner now!!! Who wants to come first??? What do you want me to make??

Aside from that, I am going to start a book study with a group of ladies!! We are reading the book, Jesus 90 Days With the One and Only!! I am really excited to start this!!

My (maybe crazy) Dream

I don't dream often. So, when I do it usually sticks in my head for awhile. Last night, I dreamt that my cousin had the very cool bike. This wasn't any old bike either! This bike was pedaled with your hands! Try to imagine this: this is a contraption you sit in, the pedals/brakes are above the head, you pedal like normal but with your hands. In my mind this a very sweet contraption!!

What the summer brings...

Today, I had to say goodbye(for the summer) to a girl in my class who I fell in love with the day she started!! C (that's what we will call her) is funny, loving and caring!! She always brought a smile to my face right when I walked in the door!! My favorite part about C is her belly button. C was blessed with a herniated belly button...which means her stomach muscles didn't close and so her belly button protrudes because her intestines can poke through the muscles! Anyway, she loves to show it off to people!! If you say, "Hi, C!", she will look at you with a huge smile and pull her shirt up and make sure you know about her button!!

C, I will miss you this summer! I hope you have fun and I am excited to see in the Toddler II room in the fall!!

C is not the only one leaving for the summer...there are 4 others...S has started growing on me. She finally is ready to conquer the world. She has a great laugh and is always filled with energy!!! I am her favorite and I will miss the great hugs from her.

J is our little crazy girl! She is just starting to walk on her skinny legs and it is so fun to see her excitement!! She brings a light to the classroom that no one else brings. J, will be the comedian of any room as she grows up!!!

G, well he is the one I am fine with leaving...He came to us at 8 months old and poor thing had NO social skills...he has been held his whole life(mom said so). G has gotten better since he has been in our care but he still has a lot to improve. He will come back to us at the end of summer and I am hoping to see great improvement in this little guy! I love him when he is happy; he's got a great personality!!

And then there is I! She is our little leprechaun! I is 14 months old and stands maybe 27 inches tall!! She is the one who yells everything she says with much energy. I is a very sincere little girl who loves a good hug!! She is by far the best hugger also!! She is leaving cuz mom will be on maternity leave...I really hope to see her during that time though!!!

So, sad days are lurking now for this coming month. I spend every working minute with these kids, and they hold a huge spot in my heart!

Good TV

I was really excited tonight!! There was finally good television on on a Wednesday!! George Straight was honored as Artist of the Decade!! It was a great show! A lot of good songs and a lot of good artists. I was sad George didn't sing more, but all in all a great show!!

Dear Body,

Please, please, please get better. I am tired and just want to feel 100% again. I have been taking good care of you and just ask that you would reciprocate that!! If you heal, then the both of us will be able to have a ton more fun than what we are currently. Please react to these new medications soon!!

2 things that made my day: finding out I have a sinus infection and then while going back to work, a guy turns left in front of me when he didn't have time.

I am uninjured as of now...my car is not bad...the other guys is....also the guy had autism...

This weekend in Lincoln 5 girls got together!! It was soooo much fun! There is nothing better than stewing over college memories and making new memories!! Thanks girls for a fun time!! Love ya'll!!

This is update for awhile

well my computer crashed...so my uncle has loaned us his laptop for the night!! Nothing much new here. Got a new phone today! I love it!!

The computer is a whole other issue. On Wednesday we lost power for one second and it took the computer even though it is on a surge protector. My uncle came today to see if he could fix it(he does this for a living) and he can't even get the hard drive to register...so it looks like this household will be computerless for awhile...I am more sad that I won't be able to get my documents off the computer. I have notes for planning this summers vacation and recipes and addresses. Pictures! I am a little bummed about it.

Anyway, that's what's going on in my life currently.

Friends

I love getting together with my friends!! It's a time for me to regress from daily life and just chill. I got to do that today! I can't even explain how much I love you and pray for you everyday. I have been changed greatly from the love from all of you!! I miss you all.

New This Week...

I have bronchitis!! it really stinks...feels like there's a ton of bricks on my chest and no voice.

Other than that, doing well!! Excited to hopefully host a Mary Kay Skin Care Class in Nebraska soon. Also excited that some friends and I are going to have a "reunion" in May!! It's been forever since I have seen A and B...FOREVER!

Lent promise has been going really well!! I am really excited to be in the Bible more and in touch with God more!! Pastor challenged us to read the book of Matthew during Lent and that is going well also!!

Lent

Today in church, my pastor was talking about this week being the beginning of Lent. He challenged us to read the book of Matthew. Not hard, I can do that. Here is the thing...instead of giving something up for Lent, I am challenging myself to get into my Bible at least two times a day. One to do my quiet time, the other to read some of Matthew. I know that I can do this, but I know that it will take getting used to also.

So I am asking you to keep me in your thoughts and prayers. If you want stop by and see how I have been doing. I will begin on Wednesday!!

Valentine's Day

The weather here is crazy...I mean 65 yesterday and currently it 36 and snowing. On top of that on Friday we could get 5-12 inches of the white stuff!! Ughh.

Anyway, I have been thinking lately about Valentine's Day. People asking me if I have a "hot date" and such. HELLO... I am single, NO I don't have a hot date. I mean I do, His name is Jesus. He and I will have a great day!! I am not afraid of being single. I love that I am single and I can do things that I want with out holding back. I like that I can plan a nice vacation with friends and not have to ask. I like that I am comfortable being single, Thank you Jesus!!

Jesus will be my boyfriend until He shows me a human guy that will take care of me the same way He does!

Now that I have that off my shoulders, I plan to have a great day!! Hope you do to!!!

Memories

So since it is Super Bowl Sunday, I have been reminded of a time in my life that I scarred some friends. Super Bowl 2004, I lived with three really good friends in college. We were all wathcing the game...well I was watching the game, I think they were watching the commercials. It came to the last 2 minutes of the game, and the game was getting crazy. I start yelling and letting the TV have my two cents worth. Meanwhile, my friends vacate the room. I am so involved in the game, I don't hear them calling my name. The end of the game comes, and I finally hear them. I go look for them, and there they are...all three of them in the shower covered in shaving cream. Guess that's what happens, when I get involved in a game.

Friends

HELP!! I am in need of friends. I am missing all of you who I lived with and around in college. It's getting hard for me being so far away (not the farthest). I am needing some one to talk to and just have it be like it was, when I could talk to anyone at anytime in the blink of an eye. I know you are saying pick up your phone...well I really don't like talking on it. I would much rather see someone and talk face to face.

On the other hand I am going to be visiting some in the next couple months and will be taking a nice long road trip this summer with a couple!!

Not Much Happening Here

It's been awhile since I have written. During that time, I have been spending time with my sister and brother-in-law. Also with the rest of my family!! I got a new bed!! I love it and it makes a huge difference when sleeping. Here is a pic:

I have yet to get the comforter that goes with, but it is coming!

So with my time now I am working and staying involved at my new church! Work is so fun right now. All the kidoos are learning new words and it is amazing to watch them use them!! It is also great to watch them start walking!

I am also trying to find time for fun. A couple of weeks ago, I went to a Go Fish! concert with a co-worker. In about a week, I am going to a comedy show with my cousin and her boyfriend. And then later this month, I hope to go to Winter Jam, a great christian concert including: tobyMac, Newsong, BarlowGirl, etc.
